Launched in October 2003, Situations set out to commission new art in Bristol within a context of critical debate and discussion. In its first two years the programme comprised an international lecture series, informal workshops, a three-day conference aswell as print and online publishing.

Situations has gone on to commission new artworks for the British Art Show 06 with artists Ivan & Heather Morison and run a series of residencies with the RSA as part of their Arts & Ecology programme.
