Public Art (Now) was a national programme of talks, films, publications and workshops, devised by Situations with our partners, dedicated to showcasing internationally significant new forms of public art from 2013-14. The Public Art (Now) programme included live events with artists Jeremy Deller and Theaster Gates, workshops, masterclasses and the publication of Out of Time, Out of Place: Public Art (Now) and the publication of the New Rules of Public Art – a set of principles for re-imagining what public art can be.
Produced in association with Spike Island Film and Video, this series of film interviews with leading artists and curators on the subject of new forms of public art were produced in 2015.
The interviews feature the following artists: Amy Franceschini (Futurefarmers), Jochen Gerz, Ahmet Öğüt, Susan Philipsz and Theaster Gates.
